If you have a question regarding of paving lights application, lifetime of the LED modules, installation options or technical features, - please check it below, - most probable it has been already answered here. If not - no problem, - feel free to ask.

Technical features

Q: What is the lifetime of the paving lights? Is it possible to replace the LED module?

A: One of the most important components in every our product is the LED module. It runs inside of the glowing stones and paving lights as a light source. We do understand how important is to ensure a long time and reliable operation. That why we deal with one of the most reliable suppliers of LED modules, produced in Europe, according to the highest quality standards. By original intention each of our products has been designed as completely sealed one, entirely water- and dust- proof, that's why the LED module can not be replaced. Nevertheless, according to the technical data sheet provided by our LED manufacture, the life time of LED module is about 80.000 hours. Of cause there are some types of installation where our lights will be really working 24/7, so calculated to days it makes about 3,333 days or roughly about 9 years or permanent operation. But in most cases (household applications) the paving lights wouldn't work more then 6 hours daily - so it makes about 36 years of operation. But it have to be considered that the life time of LED module depends on the ambient temperature, and can be significantly reduced if the temperature exceeds 50 'C (122'F).

Q: Are your products compatible with US/Canada electricity standards (120 V / 60 Hz)?

A: In fact all of our products going in 12 DC edition and connect to the main supply through the power converter (transformer). Such a voltage level considered as a safe one in most countries and doesn't bounded with any special restrictions. You can find 120V/12V transformers in Voltage convertors section of our web site, or just inform us in advance that you need ones.

Q: How to properly pick up a transformer? How many paving lights can be connected to a single device?

A: It depends on the power consumption of each paving light and complete installation all together. Please notice that the lighting stones even belonging to the same type, having different levels of power consumption (for example LED paving lights type Magnum in neutral white colour color is going on 1.4W, but the same LED stone Magnum in blue edition consumes 1.3W). The power and quantity of transformers may be calculated in the following way: for example you have to connect 20 pcs of Magum paving lights, in neutral white color (AM114112). The total power consumption is: 20 x 1.4W = 28W. So if you want to connect them into the single chain, you'll need a single transformer type AM811035, for 35W.
If, for instance, you have to connect these 20 lights divided into 2 chains - you'll need 2 transformers type AM811015 for 15W each.

Q: Is it possible to install the lighting pavers direct into the existing pavement?

A: Yes, it is possible. It is bit complicated, but nevertheless still possible. The idea is to dismount a necessary quantity of rows of existing paving elements to lay down the cables into the gravel. Then you have to connect all together on one side and return the paving elements into its place. Incurred gaps between the paving elements have to be filled with a sand. You can do that with a brush with polymer fibers.

Q: Is it possible to apply the lighting pavement into the driveways where the heavy vehicles moves on? What is the mechanical resistance of your lighting pavements? Could they accept a high mechanical pressure?

A: The paving lights are manufactured from borosilicate glass, with an extremely high mechanical features. The lights were tested in state laboratory according to the EN norms EN 55015: 2006+A1:2007+A2:2009, EN 60598-1:2008+A11:2009 been subjected to the mechanical pressure up to 2000 Kg. It is more then enough to allow even a heavy vehicle to drive on without any problem. Thanks to it's high mechanical robustness the lighting stones are commonly used for installations into the drive- and pathways of different type - asphalt, cement, concrete, gravel or the natural stone pavement. Nevertheless it is not recommended to install the paving lights into the driveways where the vehicles can moving faster then 40 km/h.

Q: Is it possible to install the paving lights into the swimming pool?

A: Yes, it is possible. The paving lights are entirely water-proof (IP68) and able to accept high mechanical pressure, also feed in the safe voltage. That's why they can be safely installed into the walls or bottom of the swimming pool. The paving lights doesn't contain any metal or other parts predisposed to corrosion, and are neutral to chemical additives used for water treatment. Of cause it is very important to perform all electrical and engineering calculations in advance, taking into consideration the cables length and the commutation scheme. Normally the lights are equipped with cable 1.5 meters long. If it's not enough you have to order desired cable length according to your requirements (subject to additional surcharge). Also it have to be taken into consideration, that power convertors (transformers) have to be installed in a sealed box, above the water level.

Q: How to clean the paving lights?

A: For within a certain period of operation the paving lights can be soiled with dust and particularly losing their brightness and color contrast. Such a problem can be easily solved with help of a plastic brush (mildly hard), and water from hose. Surely you can add some regular liquid soap or, in case of necessity, you can wash it with a high pressure washer used for a car. After such a treatment your paving lights will shine again with a vivid and bright colors.
